Joseph Cotulla founder of the town of Cotulla. Born in Poland in
1844, he came to Texas in 1856 with his widowed mother. They
settled in Atascosa County in Las Gallinas. In 1868 he came to
La Salle County and started ranching and farming.

The first Courthouse to be erected on Courthouse Square in Cotulla.
