This online exhibit shows pictures of early Cotulla.
Cotulla was founded in 1881 when Joseph Cotulla set aside a townsite of 120 acres to
found the new town. The first lots in the town were sold at public auction on January 10,
1882. In August of 1883 a special election designated Cotulla as county seat of La Salle
County.
